Performance Goal recognises that students, volunteers, and visitors may from time to time attend external sites, such as sporting clubs, partner facilities, or training venues, as part of their learning, work experience, or service activities.

To ensure their safety and compliance with legal requirements, the following guidance applies:

13.1 Compliance with Host Site Rules

  • All individuals visiting or participating in activities at external facilities must comply with the Health & Safety rules, procedures, and instructions of the host organisation or facility management.

  • This includes following all site-specific requirements such as emergency procedures, fire evacuation routes, first aid arrangements, restricted areas, and equipment usage protocols.

13.2 Awareness and Responsibility

  • Students, volunteers, and visitors are responsible for making themselves aware of any local health and safety policies and site-specific hazards upon arrival.

  • They must attend any required safety briefing or induction provided by the host facility before commencing activities.

  • They should remain alert to potential risks and act responsibly at all times.

13.3 Reporting Concerns or Unsafe Conditions

  • If an individual identifies a health or safety concern, or feels unsafe for any reason at an external site, they must:

    1. Immediately inform their line supervisor, tutor, or designated Performance Goal contact, and

    2. Report the concern to the host site’s management or responsible person.

  • If the issue poses an imminent risk to health or safety, the individual should leave the area or premises immediately and inform their supervisor as soon as possible.

14. Personal Conduct and Cooperation

  • Students, volunteers, and visitors must cooperate fully with all reasonable instructions from both the host site and Performance Goal.

  • They must not engage in unsafe behaviour, misuse equipment, or disregard signage or staff guidance.

  • Any incidents, injuries, or near misses occurring during external site visits must be reported to both the host organisation and Performance Goal without delay.

14.1 Insurance and Supervision

  • Students, volunteers, or professionals attending external sites under the auspices of a university, training provider, sporting body, or professional organisation are responsible for ensuring that they are covered by the insurance arrangements of their registered institution, employer, or governing body.
It is the responsibility of the individual to verify that appropriate public liability and personal accident insurance is in place through their affiliated organisation before undertaking any activity at an external facility.
Performance Goal C.I.C  does not provide insurance for third-party sites or independent placements.
